The PSOL Project
Long-distance propagation of surface waves on non-smooth floors
AxesSim is involved in the PSOL project on “Long-distance propagation of surface waves on non-smooth floors” supported by Defense & Innovation Agency / DGA (ASTRID Program) in collaboration with XLim Institute and Thalès.
The main objective of the project is to propose an accurate method for simulating the propagation of surface electromagnetic waves over long distances in the HF, VHF and UHF bands. The method must therefore solve Maxwell’s equations in the most realistic environments possible. It must incorporate the ability to take into account potentially all the electromagnetic characteristics of the real environment, i.e. ground with its heterogeneities, state of the surface (rough surface model), relief, vegetation, woods, lakes, etc. in order to predict the propagation of waves above the ground.
